Alberta police seize over $7 million in drugs, $1 million cash and 17 firearms in province‑wide bust

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) announced a province‑wide drug trafficking bust that spanned Calgary, Edmonton, St. Albert and Sturgeon County. Over 66 kg of cocaine, 5 kg each of fentanyl, methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms were seized, together valued at more than $7 million. The operation also recovered $1.16 million in cash – the largest cash seizure in ALERT’s 20‑year history – and 17 firearms, including six handguns and 11 rifles, which will be examined by the province’s Firearms Solutions Lab. Eight vehicles used to transport the contraband were also confiscated. The investigation, begun in November 2025, involved the Edmonton Police Service, Calgary Police Service and the RCMP. While several suspects have been arrested, no charges have been laid yet and the probe remains ongoing.

"Over $7 million worth of drugs, $1 million cash, and 17 firearms were seized by ALERT," the agency said in its release.
