RØDE launches DS3 desktop studio arm with 1.5 kg capacity

RØDE has launched the DS3, a professional freestanding desktop studio arm designed for content creators, podcasters, and streamers. Unlike traditional arms that clamp to desk edges, the DS3 utilizes a 1.5 kg weighted base, allowing for flexible placement on any flat surface without tools.

The DS3 offers a significant upgrade in payload capacity over its predecessor, the DS2. While the DS2 was rated for approximately 900g to 950g, the DS3 can support devices weighing up to 1.5 kg, including heavy XLR microphones, cameras, lights, and smartphones. It features an integrated, precision-engineered ball head for near-silent positioning and a central locking mechanism for stability.

The arm is available in two color options: Classic Black and Crisp White. To assist with acoustic isolation, the Black model includes a silicone pad at the base, while the White model uses natural cork. The product includes various thread adapters (1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, and 5/8-inch) and features integrated cable management for XLR and USB cables. The DS3 is priced at approximately $109, £99, or €119.
