Rădeni inaugurates new volunteer firefighter and rescuer station
A new Territorial Post for Rescuers and Volunteer Firefighters was inaugurated in the commune of Rădeni, Strășeni district, on September 17. The facility is designed to provide rapid emergency response for approximately 12,198 residents across Rădeni and 10 surrounding localities, including Drăgușeni, Zamciogi, and Romănești.
The unit will be staffed by 10 permanent volunteer rescuers who have received specialized training from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) and international partners. The station includes a heated garage for two vehicles, a kitchen, sanitary facilities, and changing rooms. The fleet consists of an ACI-30 STAR donated by Polish partners and a Mercedes-Benz provided with support from Austria.
The project, which began in 2020, received support from the Solidarity Fund in Poland for the construction of the station. This marks the 25th volunteer firefighter post established in Moldova. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin, IGSU Chief Colonel Aurel Baciu, and the Polish Ambassador to Moldova, Tomasz Kobzdej.
