Rádio Lumen announces major programming overhaul

After 33 years of broadcasting, Rádio Lumen is entering a new programming phase starting September 7, 2026. The station aims to modernize its format by introducing more live moderated content, new musical and sound identities, and increased involvement from its studios in Bratislava and Košice.

Managing Director Ivo Novák stated that while the station is a strong brand, it must adapt to the rapidly changing media landscape. The transition follows a period of financial difficulty, and the current stability allows for a focus on development and quality.

The station will maintain its Catholic identity, ensuring that Holy Masses and prayers remain in the schedule at their existing times. The goal is to serve as a space for religious life while functioning as a full-fledged radio station for listeners in other areas of life. The new concept was developed in collaboration with former public radio programming director Vincent Štofaník.
