Rádio Nacional celebrates 90 years with special programming and music video
Rádio Nacional is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a series of commemorative events. The public broadcaster, part of the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC), has released a new music video for a modernized version of the historical samba-enredo ‘Alô! Alô! Brasil!’. Created in partnership with the Estácio de Sá samba school, the updated lyrics include current staff members to honor the station's long history of broadcasting culture, sports, and entertainment.
To mark the milestone, the station will host a special program titled ‘Somos Uma Só Nacional’ on September 12. This event will feature real-time connections between studios in Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, São Luís, the Amazon, and Alto Solimões, bringing together presenters, artists, and researchers to discuss the station's legacy.
In separate news, singer Simone Mendes has reached a career milestone with her solo album ‘Cintilante’, surpassing 1 billion streams. To celebrate, she is launching a special project featuring new versions of six tracks from the album, with daily releases scheduled throughout the week.
