Rødovre resident wins 1 million DKK in Danish Lotto, plans home renovation and travel

A man from the Copenhagen suburb of Rødovre has become Denmark's 3,948th Lotto million‑kroner winner after his ticket matched the numbers for a 1 000 000 DKK prize. He described the windfall as "many months of SU" for his partner, who is currently studying on a student grant, and said the money will ease the family’s tight budget.

Despite the prize, he emphasizes that daily life—dropping off children at school, preparing lunches and running errands—remains unchanged. Nevertheless, the couple intends to use part of the winnings for a house renovation and to fund an extended three‑week vacation that includes a trip to Borneo, island visits and a stay at Disneyland.

The winner noted that the funds “open many doors” and will support his family’s plans without altering their routine.
