Re-Viste and ARTE partner to drive textile and footwear circularity in Spain
Re-Viste, a non-profit association promoting a Collective Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAP) system for textiles and footwear in Spain, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Asociación Retail Textil España (ARTE). ARTE represents major retailers, including Inditex, Mango, and Primark.
The partnership aims to support the circular transformation of the textile, fashion, and footwear sectors. By combining Re-Viste’s expertise in collective systems with ARTE’s retail knowledge, the entities plan to share information, identify common challenges, and promote initiatives that foster a more circular, innovative, and competitive value chain.
Key areas of collaboration include knowledge exchange, digitalization, training in new technologies, and applied innovation. The agreement also involves working with research and innovation centers to find solutions for regulatory compliance and improved end-of-life management for textile and footwear products. Efforts will prioritize the waste hierarchy, focusing on prevention, reuse, and extending product lifespans, while strengthening collection and classification capabilities for recycling.
