ReactOS releases version 0.4.16 with new graphical installer

The ReactOS Team has released version 0.4.16 of its open-source operating system, which aims for binary compatibility with Microsoft Windows NT-based applications and drivers. This update introduces a new graphical installer with basic partition management and integrates the previous BootCD and LiveCD into a single release image.

Key technical improvements include support for Hyper-V Generation 1, a new HD Audio bus driver, and a new ATA driver. The release also addresses performance issues with NVIDIA graphics drivers, fixes OpenGL window visibility for AMD graphics, and improves memory allocation for third-party drivers. Additionally, the update includes a Server Core installation option that does not launch the Explorer shell and incorporates updated code from Wine 10.0.

Regarding the project's development pace, the team noted a shift in strategy from frequent, minor updates to a focus on quality and stability. To reach a formal release status, new versions must now meet specific criteria, including a low number of regressions, which has resulted in longer intervals between major releases.
