Reading establishes community equipment recycling point
A new community equipment recycling point has been established at the re3 Recycling Centre on Island Road in Reading. The initiative is a partnership between Reading Borough Council, re3, and Millbrook Healthcare.
Residents can return unused health and social care equipment, such as walking sticks, crutches, walking frames, and various bathing or daily living aids. Once returned, the items undergo a thorough safety inspection, cleaning, and sanitisation process by Millbrook Healthcare before being redistributed to other residents in need.
To participate, residents must book a visit through the re3 system and ensure equipment is clean. For those unable to transport items or dealing with larger equipment, Millbrook Healthcare offers a free collection service from the resident’s home.
