Real Avilés owner considers sale amid stadium and sponsorship disputes
Diego Baeza, owner and president of Real Avilés Industrial, has indicated he may sell the club if he does not secure the concession to use the Suárez Puerta stadium by the end of the year. Baeza expressed that the current situation is taking a personal toll and noted that relations with the Avilés City Council are “very cold.”
Despite these tensions, the Government of Asturias has announced it will sponsor the club under the slogan “Asturias Paraíso Natural.” This decision, announced by President Adrián Barbón at the request of Avilés Mayor Mariví Monteserín, follows similar regional sponsorship agreements granted to Real Sporting and Real Oviedo.
Baeza emphasized the club's growing importance, noting that audience figures have reached approximately one million viewers, positioning the team as a significant regional asset. He stressed that regional advertising agreements are vital to the club's roadmap.
