Real Club Náutico de La Línea hosts II Copa Ubago sailing regatta

The Real Club Náutico de La Línea de la Concepción (RCNLL) successfully organized the II Copa Ubago, a coastal sailing competition that drew approximately 80 sailors from Spain, Gibraltar, and Ceuta.

The 35-mile course, which included a passage through the Sotogrande Marina, presented extreme tactical and physical challenges due to adverse weather conditions. Participants faced delayed winds in the Strait, intense sun, and strong currents, resulting in several crews abandoning the race. Those who completed the seven-hour navigation demonstrated significant resilience.

In the ORC full crew category, the Altarik IV, owned by José Luis Pérez Navarro, secured the top position. The Senador II, captained by Agustín de Villar, also received recognition for its performance during periods of calm. In the Reduced Category, the Aqua 44, owned by Francisco López, won its class after successfully navigating the currents to reach Sotogrande first.
