Goiânia real estate sales grow 42% in first half of 2026

Goiânia has emerged as a major player in the Brazilian real estate market, ranking fourth among national capitals for residential property sales in the first half of 2026. The city recorded 7,219 unit sales, representing a 42% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This growth rate is nearly eight times higher than the national average of 5.4%.

According to data from the Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry (CBIC) and Brain Inteligência Estratégica, the city's performance remains strong despite high interest rates. The total sales volume (VGV) for the market reached R$ 4.1 billion. The surge in activity has also attracted new players, such as the developer Plano&Plano, which has established a headquarters in Goiânia to target the economic housing segment under the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program.

In contrast to the regional growth in Goiânia, some popular real estate investment funds in Brazil have faced significant challenges in 2026. Certain funds with large investor bases reported devaluations of up to 47%, driven by issues such as default rates, debt, and difficulties in asset monetization.
