Real estate sector sees growth as NEPI Rockcastle and Pontegadea report strong results
The real estate sector has seen significant activity, highlighted by strong financial results from major players. NEPI Rockcastle, a leading retail real estate company in Europe, reported a 3.8% year-on-year increase in net operating income to €318 million for the first half of 2026. This growth was supported by high occupancy rates of 98.2% and a total portfolio valuation of €8.4 billion. The company also announced its first investment outside Central and Eastern Europe in Bilbao, Spain.
In other notable developments, Pontegadea surpassed €10 billion in earnings for the first time in 2025. Amancio Ortega’s investment vehicle also acquired a residential property on Baker Street in London for rental purposes. Additionally, BBVA has established a new multifamily office vehicle aimed at individuals with assets exceeding €30 million. The market shows a growing trend in the living and luxury real estate segments, with Madrid leading as a primary capital for luxury investments.
