Real Kashmir Football Club earns International Emmy nomination

The drama series ‘Real Kashmir Football Club’ has received an International Emmy nomination in the Drama Series category. The show, which premiered on SonyLIV, is inspired by the true story of the founders of the real-life Real Kashmir FC, Sandeep Chattoo and Shamim Meraj.

Set in Kashmir, the series follows a reporter and a businessman who establish a professional football team. The narrative focuses on themes of resilience, peace, and community, depicting how individuals from diverse backgrounds come together through the sport. The production features lead actors Manav Kaul and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.

Actor Manav Kaul described the series as a story about two religions coming together to create something meaningful despite difficult circumstances. The nomination places the Indian production alongside international entries such as ‘A Thousand Blows’ from the UK and ‘Carême’ from France.
