Real Madrid signs Ibrahima Konaté and manages Yan Diomandé integration

Real Madrid has made significant moves in the transfer market, including the signing of Ibrahima Konaté. The 27-year-old French defender joined the club on a free transfer from Liverpool, signing a contract until 2030. He is expected to bolster a defense that struggled with injuries last season.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomandé, Real Madrid’s most expensive summer signing at an estimated €125–€140 million, is facing scrutiny over his limited playing time. Diomandé has appeared in four league matches but has yet to start, totaling only 83 minutes of play.

Manager José Mourinho has defended the decision to integrate Diomandé gradually. Mourinho stated that the player must progress “step by step” and emphasized that the transfer fee should not dictate selection. The coach noted Diomandé’s strong work ethic and humility in training, aiming to avoid the pressure that comes with such a high-profile move.
