Real Madrid has appointed Jose Mourinho as the new first-team manager following a period of instability. After Carlo Ancelotti departed at the end of the 2024/2025 season, Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa served brief tenures but failed to meet the board's expectations. Mourinho has signed a contract that runs until June 2029.
