Real Madrid defeats Barcelona 2-1 in El Clasico at Camp Nou

Real Madrid secured a 2-1 victory against Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou during the 2026/2027 La Liga El Clasico. Kylian Mbappé scored twice to lead the win, allowing Madrid to close the gap in the league standings.

Following the match, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho praised his team’s organization, courage, and ability to maintain composure under intense pressure. He described the performance as extraordinary and noted that the team won with merit rather than luck.

Mourinho also addressed a controversial moment involving the VAR, stating that the officials failed to issue a red card to Joao Cancelo for a challenge on Yan Diomandé. He noted that the victory is psychologically significant, as it prevents Barcelona from extending their lead in the standings.
