Real Madrid defender Ibrahima Konaté returns to training ahead of Villarreal match

Real Madrid has received a significant defensive boost ahead of their La Liga match against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabéu. Ibrahima Konaté has returned to full training following a knee injury sustained during international duty with France.

Konaté’s return addresses a period of severe depth issues in the central defense. The squad has been depleted by the suspension of Dean Huijsen, a long-term injury to Raúl Asencio, and the ongoing recovery of other players. Prior to Konaté’s progress, Antonio Rüdiger was the only fully fit senior center-back available, leading to speculation that Aurélien Tchouaméni or Denzel Dumfries might be deployed in central defensive roles.

In addition to Konaté, several international players including Vinícius Júnior, Endrick, and Brahim Díaz have returned to training. Real Madrid enters the match looking to reduce a six-point deficit to league leaders Barcelona.
