Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio may remain at the club despite previous plans for his departure. Although manager Jose Mourinho initially intended to sign another defender, leaving little room for Asencio, the young player reportedly impressed the coach during pre-season training.

Journalist Jose Felix Diaz reports that Asencio was noted as the player who trained best prior to a minor injury. While Real Madrid had engaged agent Jorge Mendes to find the player a new club, Asencio’s work ethic and commitment have led to a potential change in his status at the Santiago Bernabeu. His injury is not considered serious, and he is expected to return to the pitch soon.
