Real Madrid drops Enzo Fernandez pursuit, eyes Bruno Guimaraes transfer

Real Madrid issued an official statement denying any negotiations for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, ending weeks of speculation that manager José Mourinho was pressing for the Argentine's signing. The club confirmed that Fernandez is not part of its plans for the upcoming summer window.

Instead, Madrid shifted its focus to Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, a 28‑year‑old valued at around €70 million. Mourinho has publicly expressed interest in the player, who can operate both as a defensive and box‑to‑box midfielder. Arsenal are preparing a bid, while Newcastle United, Guimaraes’s current club, have refused to sell and intend to offer him a new contract. With the Fernandez saga resolved, Real Madrid now have the resources to compete for Guimaraes against other European suitors.
