Real Madrid names four untouchable players as Mourinho seeks midfield reinforcements

Jose Mourinho, the newly appointed coach of Real Madrid, declared four players – Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, Turkish midfielder Arda Güler and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois – as "untouchable" and the core around which he will build the squad. The coach said they form the team’s spine and that the club will aim to keep them while other players could be sold if attractive offers arise.

At the same time, Real Madrid is active in the transfer market to strengthen its midfield. The club has dismissed rumours of signing Enzo Fernández and is reportedly pursuing Bruno Guimarães, with a price tag close to €70 million. Additional midfield targets are being scouted, but any acquisition will depend on generating funds through player sales. The club is also exploring a loan move for Argentine forward Franco Mastantuono, with La Liga sides Betis and Villarreal showing interest.

These moves are part of Mourinho’s broader plan to reshape the squad while preserving the identified four‑player core.
