Real Madrid faces challenges in midfield transfer pursuits

Real Madrid is exploring options to reinforce its midfield, though recent developments have complicated their pursuit of specific targets. Crystal Palace has declared 22-year-old midfielder Adam Wharton non-transferable, refusing to entertain offers despite interest from both Real Madrid and Manchester City. Wharton is currently under contract until June 2029.

As the transfer window nears its end, Real Madrid is also considering Nico González of Manchester City as a potential option. While the club has largely planned to maintain its current midfield structure following the failure to sign Rodri, they remain open to last-minute opportunities if favorable conditions arise. However, the club's ability to make new signings is currently limited by the fact that they have already utilized all 25 squad registration slots in La Liga and have not yet seen any departures from the position.
