Real Madrid holds pre‑season training without World Cup players under Mourinho

Real Madrid conducted its third consecutive training session of the week at the Ciudad Real Madrid complex, featuring a reduced first‑team squad and several academy players. Manager Jose Mourinho oversaw drills focused on ball possession and circulation while many key World Cup participants, including Marc Cucurella (Spain) and Jude Bellingham (England), were absent. Injured first‑team members such as Ferland Mendy, Éder Militao and Rodrygo remain in recovery.

Mourinho, who officially took charge in early June, has been intensively supervising the preseason programme, urging players to arrive early and correcting exercises personally. The club has scheduled two friendly matches before the new season: against Fiorentina on 1 August in Klagenfurt, Austria, and against Deportivo La Coruña on 12 August in Riazor for the 71st Teresa Herrera Trophy.
