Real Madrid interested in Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay

Real Madrid has reportedly made initial inquiries regarding the potential transfer of Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay. The interest comes amid ongoing contract negotiations between the 29-year-old Scottish international and Napoli, which have reportedly reached a stalemate. While McTominay’s current contract runs until 2028, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has not prioritized a renewal, leading to speculation about a possible departure.

If a move occurs, it could reunite McTominay with José Mourinho, who oversaw the player’s breakthrough at Manchester United. While Napoli may prefer to wait until the summer transfer window to sell the player, interest from Real Madrid and several English Premier League clubs could force a decision as early as the January window. McTominay has become a key figure in the Napoli midfield since his £25.9 million move from Manchester United in the summer of 2024.
