Real Madrid secures Aurélien Tchouaméni with contract extension to 2031

French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni has signed a new contract with Real Madrid that runs until 30 June 2031, adding three years to his previous deal. The renewal was confirmed by Spanish media, Fabrizio Romano and the club, and was approved by head coach José Mourinho, who highlighted the player’s tactical versatility as a cornerstone for the squad.

The extension ends speculation about a possible move to the Premier League and closes the option of using Tchouaméni as a make‑weight in other transfer deals, such as the earlier rumoured link with Eduardo Camavinga for Michael Olise. It also shifts the market focus onto other Real Madrid midfielders, notably Fede Valverde, whose potential summer sale is now being discussed.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Tchouaméni has been effectively halted, marking a setback for the English club’s transfer plans. The announcement came as Tchouaméni returned to France’s World Cup training group after a muscular injury, training with the national team and meeting Didier Deschamps. Real Madrid will now look to build the midfield core around the newly secured French international.
