Real Madrid generates over €108 million from academy player sales

Real Madrid has earned more than €108 million (about R$600 million) from the sale of academy‑grown players who did not appear for the first team in the 2025/26 season. Major transactions include Nico Paz to Como for €60 million (with an €80 million buy‑back option), Mario Gila to AC Milan for €15 million, Victor Muñoz to Liverpool for €40 million (half of which went to Madrid), Álvaro Rodríguez and Alex Jiménez to Bournemouth for €12.5 million each, and Mario Martín to Getafe for €3.5 million. A prospective sale of Antonio Blanco could add another €5 million. The club retains 50 % of the economic rights on many of these players, creating future income streams.

The revenue has been used to fund new signings under coach José Mourinho, such as Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konaté and Bernardo Silva, while keeping the club’s balance sheet strong. The strategy turns the departure of “absent” talents into a financial asset, allowing Real Madrid to invest in the squad without breaching financial fair‑play rules.
