Yan Diomande set to join Real Madrid in €120 million deal

Real Madrid are close to completing the transfer of 19‑year‑old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. The clubs have reached an agreement in principle and the player has signed personal terms on a five‑year contract that runs until 2031. The transfer fee is reported to be between €115 million and €120 million, making the move one of the most expensive for an African player. Paris Saint‑Germain have officially withdrawn their interest and bids, while other European clubs – including Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal – have also been linked with the winger. Diomande’s arrival adds a new attacking option for José Mourinho’s side and is expected to influence the contract situation of Vinícius Júnior. The deal is slated to be announced in the coming days, pending final paperwork and a medical examination in Madrid.

Diomande impressed last season with Leipzig, recording 12–13 goals and nine assists in the Bundesliga and featuring in all four of Ivory Coast’s matches at the 2026 World Cup. His signing would broaden Real Madrid’s offensive options alongside Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Bernardo Silva.
