Real Madrid prepares record football bid for Michael Olise and hires Pedro Martínez as basketball coach
Real Madrid is reportedly ready to submit its largest ever offer for a European club player, targeting 24‑year‑old Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise. The Spanish club's president Florentino Pérez said a proposal of €190 million, plus up to €33 million in performance bonuses, could bring the total to €223 million – surpassing the €222 million record set for Neymar in 2017. Olise, under contract with Bayern until 2029 and valued at €150 million, is the top transfer target for the football side.
In basketball, Real Madrid is also moving decisively. The organization plans to pay Valencia’s €1 million release clause to appoint Pedro Martínez as head coach for three years, replacing Sergio Scariolo after a trophy‑less season. Martínez, who led Valencia to the Supercopa and Liga Endesa titles, will take over a team looking to revive its European standing.
