Real Madrid pursues Ukrainian guard Max Shulga

Real Madrid is in advanced talks to sign 24‑year‑old Ukrainian guard Max Shulga. The player, who spent his youth in Spain after moving at age 11 and later entered the NBA draft, spent last season with the Boston Celtics’ G‑League affiliate Maine Celtics, appearing in eleven NBA games. Because he was trained in Spain, Shulga would qualify for a development‑player slot at Real Madrid. The club’s interest rivals that of Unicaja, which contacted him earlier, but the Spanish side appears to have the edge in the negotiations. If the deal is completed, Shulga would return to the Spanish basketball league, swapping the Celtics’ green for Real Madrid’s white.
