Real Madrid pushes for Vinicius Jr contract extension as deadline looms

Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr, a key figure for Real Madrid, is approaching the final year of his contract, which runs until 2027. The club has issued a clear ultimatum, seeking a rapid decision on a new deal to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer. Negotiations have so far yielded no response from the player or his representatives.

Real Madrid’s management warns that without an extension, rival European clubs – notably Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Liverpool and Paris Saint‑Germain – could move in as the contract expiration approaches. Bayern Munich is reported to have made an approach, adding pressure on the Madrid side. The club aims to secure a financially viable renewal or, alternatively, prepare for a potential sale this summer.

The situation is intensified by Brazil’s recent World Cup exit, which removes a potential distraction for the player but also heightens the urgency for the club to settle the matter before the next season’s campaign begins.
