Real Madrid signs Cucurella as Atletico Madrid targets Grimaldo

Real Madrid have completed the signing of left‑back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea on a six‑year contract, reportedly for around €50 million. The deal ends a protracted negotiation period in which Atlético Madrid and Barcelona also showed interest, but the Madrid club secured the player quickly to reinforce a position weakened by injuries.

At the same time, Atlético Madrid are preparing an offer for Bayer Leverkusen left‑back Alejandro Grimaldo. The Spanish side and the 30‑year‑old have signed a personal agreement covering three seasons with an optional fourth, and Atlético plan to open negotiations with an initial €10 million bid, well below Leverkusen’s €20 million valuation. Juventus, Barcelona and Beşiktaş have also been linked to Grimaldo, but the clubs expect talks to begin in July.
