Real Madrid's Vinícius Jr contract talks stall, future uncertain

Negotiations between Real Madrid and Brazilian winger Vinícius Júnior have stalled, leaving his future in doubt. His current contract runs until June 2027, and the club warned that without a new deal he could leave on a free transfer when it expires.

Real Madrid has indicated it may sell the player this summer if an agreement is not reached, while President Florentino Pérez said he wants Vinícius to stay but cannot confirm a renewal.

The Brazilian reportedly sought a salary rise of about €30 million per season, later reduced, but talks have cooled in recent months. The club’s interest in signing Julian Álvarez for €150 million has also been mentioned as a factor.

Vinícius has scored 22 goals and provided 14 assists in 53 matches this season, joining an elite group of Real Madrid players with 20+ goals in five consecutive seasons. His market value is estimated at roughly €140 million.
