Real Mallorca stadium capacity and Málaga CF promotion impact Spanish football

The Son Moix stadium in Mallorca, with 26,020 seats, is now the fifth‑largest venue in Spain’s Segunda División, trailing only the stadiums of UD Las Palmas, Real Oviedo, Sporting Gijón and Real Valladolid. The club sees the large capacity as a key asset in its push to regain promotion to the Primera División.

Málaga CF has secured promotion to the top flight, while its reserve side, Atlético Malagueño, will compete in the Tercera RFEF. The club highlighted that the gap between the first team and its B team has widened, but it will maintain its focus on a strong youth system that supplied 14 home‑grown players this season. The management stressed the need to continue developing academy talent despite the increased competitive demands of La Liga.
