Real Montevideo implements fan voting for tactical decisions
Real Montevideo, a Uruguayan football club competing in the fourth division, is launching a digital initiative that allows fans to participate directly in sporting decisions. Through a dedicated mobile application, supporters can vote on tactical schemes, select starting lineups, and influence substitutions made during halftime.
The project aims to replicate the dynamics of football management video games, transforming the traditional relationship between a club and its supporters by giving fans an active role in team construction.
In terms of squad development, the four-year-old club has already confirmed the signing of Colombian defender Cristian Zapata, 40, who previously played for AC Milan and San Lorenzo. The club is also reportedly interested in players such as Mariano Pavone and Felipe Melo. Former Argentine player Ariel Ortega declined an offer to join the project, citing his long absence from professional football.
