Real Oviedo launches preseason with Villahermosa and Fernández

Real Oviedo began a key week of preseason training under coach Julián Calero at the El Requexón facility. New signings Dani Villahermosa, a 24‑year‑old midfielder from Andorra, and Carlos Fernández, a 30‑year‑old forward arriving from Real Sociedad on a contract until 2028, took part in a demanding double‑session that ran both in the morning and the afternoon.

The squad will face SD Ponferradina in a friendly before travelling to Germany, where it is scheduled to play FC Nürnberg on Saturday. Coach Calero emphasized high intensity throughout the drills, urging faster passing and tighter ball circulation.

These preparations mark the start of Oviedo’s preseason program ahead of the upcoming competitive season.
