Real Sociedad signs Mamadou Sarr on loan from Chelsea

Real Sociedad has completed its first signing of the season by securing defender Mamadou Sarr on loan from Chelsea. The deal, which includes no purchase option, runs until June 2027.

Sarr, a 20-year-old Senegalese defender standing 1.94 meters tall, was identified as a priority target for head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo to strengthen the club's defensive line. Matarazzo praised the player's physical profile, speed, and versatility, noting that he can operate as both a right and left defender.

The young defender has traveled to San Sebastián to undergo medical examinations. If he integrates quickly, he could potentially join the squad for upcoming matches, potentially forming a young central defensive partnership with Jon Martín.
