Real Sociedad targets Benfica defender Daniel Banjaqui
Real Sociedad is monitoring Benfica's 18-year-old Portuguese right-back, Daniel Banjaqui, as part of their strategy to strengthen their defensive rotation for both the short and long term.
According to reports, the club's management has established informal contact through intermediaries to understand Benfica's requirements. The Portuguese club reportedly seeks a minimum of 35 million euros to negotiate the player's departure. Banjaqui is currently under contract with Benfica until June 2031, with a release clause set at 45 million euros.
Real Sociedad faces competition from several major European clubs, including Tottenham, Brighton, Juventus, AS Roma, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Atlético de Madrid. The club's technical secretariat is currently evaluating the economic feasibility of a formal proposal to ensure financial stability while attempting to outmaneuver Premier League and Serie A competitors by offering the player a prominent role in LaLiga.
