Real Valladolid bus carries Moroccan minor hiding in undercarriage
A 17-year-old Moroccan minor was discovered hiding in the undercarriage of a Real Valladolid CF team bus during a journey from Ceuta to mainland Spain. The teenager had stowed away near the vehicle's rear axle before the bus embarked on a ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar to Algeciras.
The stowaway was not detected during security checks at the port. After the ferry crossing, the bus traveled approximately 100 kilometers by road before players and staff heard cries for help near Jerez de la Frontera. The driver stopped the vehicle, and the delegation found the exhausted teenager, who was suffering from minor bruises and back pain.
Club officials and players provided immediate assistance, including food, water, and medical attention from the team doctor. The Guardia Civil took custody of the minor, and the Junta de Andalucía has since placed him in a specialized care center. Real Valladolid's sporting director, Víctor Orta, expressed pride in the players' “human and solidary” response to the incident.
