Realbotix launches humanoid robot pilot in US high schools

Realbotix is deploying its AI‑driven teaching assistant Optio together with the M‑Series humanoid robot in the Salamanca City Central School District as a pilot program aimed at boosting student engagement and providing 24‑hour tutoring support. The initiative will initially serve high‑school students enrolled in Woz ED AI and robotics courses and is slated to expand to roughly 500 learners by the fall of 2026.

The system combines natural‑language processing, expressive facial movements and real‑time dialogue to answer questions, facilitate discussions and deliver instructional content. Realbotix says the platform includes safety controls, district oversight and features to accommodate neurodiverse learners. CEO Andrew Kiguel said the rollout moves “beyond laboratory demos to bring embodied AI directly into classrooms, supporting teachers and demonstrating that advanced robotics can thrive in real educational settings.”
