Reality TV star Stephen Bear sentenced to 16 months for restraining order breach
Stephen Bear, a former winner of Celebrity Big Brother, was handed a 16‑month prison term after repeatedly violating a court‑imposed restraining order intended to protect former partner Georgia Harrison. The court heard that between March and July 2025 Bear used Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and YouTube to post degrading material about Harrison and encouraged his followers to harass her, despite the order explicitly forbidding such contact. Senior Crown Prosecutor Andrew Young said the breach demonstrated how online abuse can have real‑world consequences and affirmed the prosecution’s commitment to protecting women and girls.
In a related proceeding, Bear also pleaded guilty to five counts of failing to comply with the sex‑offenders register. He did not inform police of a trip to Brazil, nor of his return to the UK within the required three‑day period, and failed to report a new passport and two bank cards obtained abroad. The magistrates’ court noted these breaches but scheduled a separate sentencing for the restraining‑order violation at Chelmsford Crown Court.
