OPPO unveils ColorOS 17 with agentic AI and Living Flow Design
OPPO has officially unveiled ColorOS 17, a new mobile operating system based on Android 17. The update introduces the ‘Living Flow Design’ philosophy, featuring Luminous Effect, Fluid Motion, and Flexible Feedback to enhance visual smoothness and tactile responsiveness. A new Unified Rendering Architecture aims to reduce rendering workloads by up to 30 percent.
A major component of the update is the integration of agentic artificial intelligence through the AI Mind Pilot system. In collaboration with Manus, OPPO is introducing ‘Agent Mode,’ which allows the AI to perform complex, multi-step tasks such as organizing files and creating travel itineraries rather than just answering questions.
The rollout is set to begin on October 29, 2026, debuting on the OPPO Find X10 series. The update will also extend to OnePlus and Realme devices. Notably, OnePlus will transition from OxygenOS to ColorOS 17 as part of a software strategy to unify development across BBK Electronics brands. The deployment for OnePlus and Realme devices will occur in phases, starting with premium models like the OnePlus 15 and Realme GT 8 Pro, and continuing through the first quarter of 2027.
