Realme and Xiaomi launch S5 smartwatches in India and worldwide

Realme introduced the Watch S5, a Rs 7,499 (≈$90) smartwatch aimed at the Rs 5‑10 K segment. It features a 1.43‑inch circular AMOLED display with 1500 nits peak brightness, a ceramic‑textured rear, a lightweight aluminum alloy case under 50 g, and a triple‑button layout that includes a rotating digital crown. The device supports GPS across five satellite systems, offers over 110 sport modes, tracks heart rate, SpO₂, sleep, stress and noise, and is rated 5 ATM waterproof. Realme claims up to 20 days of battery life.

Xiaomi's Watch S5, unveiled at the same time, weighs 46 g and measures 46 × 11 mm. It has a 1.48‑inch AMOLED panel (480 × 480 px) capable of 2500 nits brightness and a stainless‑steel frame. Battery capacity is 815 mAh with Xiaomi promising up to 21 days of use under light conditions (about 14 days in typical use). The watch runs HyperOS 3, includes dual‑frequency GPS, a rotating crown, and more than 150 sport modes. Health sensors cover heart rate (four‑LED array), SpO₂, temperature, barometer, compass, accelerometer and gyroscope. It is compatible with Android 8+ and iOS 14+ via the Mi Fitness app.
