Rebase expands rental space platform Instabase
Rebase, the operator of the rental space matching platform Instabase, has grown its network to over 50,000 listings nationwide following its listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in December 2022. The company, co-founded by Yuji Takabatake and led by CEO Kai Sato, aims to become a foundational infrastructure for urban spaces.
A recent survey conducted by Instabase involving 284 users highlights evolving remote work trends. The study found that approximately one-third of employees participate in “faceless meetings” (turning cameras off) even when their workplace mandates cameras to be on. Among those in workplaces with mandatory camera rules, 76% reported they did not feel hesitant or uncertain about turning their cameras off when working from home.
The survey also noted that 22% of respondents have conducted work or meetings in locations other than their home or office. The primary motivation for seeking alternative spaces was an inability to concentrate at home (29%), followed by the desire for privacy during sensitive meetings (23%) and a lack of suitable meeting environments at home (20%).
