Bárbara Gatica wins singles and doubles titles at W15 Maceió

Chilean tennis player Bárbara Gatica achieved a double victory at the W15 Maceió Tennis Experience in Brazil, winning both the singles and doubles titles.

In the singles final, Gatica defeated Mexico’s Ana Sofía Sánchez with a score of 7/6 (7-6) and 6/0. This marks her third professional singles title and her first since 2022. The tournament serves as a significant comeback for Gatica, who returned to the professional circuit following a three-year suspension that ended in December 2025. The suspension was related to a violation of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program.

In the doubles competition, Gatica partnered with Brazilian player Rebeca Pereira. The duo secured the championship by defeating Argentina’s Lourdes Ayala and Ecuador’s Camila Romero with a 6-4, 6-0 victory. This win marks Pereira’s third doubles title of the season and her 18th professional title overall.
