Rebecca Šramková exits US Open qualifying

Slovak tennis player Rebecca Šramková has been eliminated in the first round of the US Open qualifying tournament. The 29-year-old, ranked 151st in the WTA, lost to 21-year-old Russian Alevtina Ibragimova with a score of 2:6, 4:6.

During the 87-minute match, Šramková struggled with consistency, recording 38 unforced errors compared to Ibragimova’s 19. The match was decided in the closing stages of both sets, where Šramková committed errors on crucial points.

Other Slovak players remain in competition. Viktória Hrunčáková is scheduled to compete in her US Open qualifying match against Argentina’s Julia Rierová.
