Rebecca Yarros releases ‘Threshing Day’ in Empyrean series

Rebecca Yarros has released ‘Threshing Day’, a new addition to the Empyrean series universe. Rather than a traditional novel or prequel, the book is a collection of thirteen first-person accounts detailing the experiences of riders during their Threshing Days at Basgiath War College.

The stories span a ten-year period and are presented as an archive transcribed from Navarrian by professors of Dragonkind, Colonel Valin Kaori and Lieutenant Ellery Mynna. This framing device distinguishes the text from previous novels in the series, which were transcribed by scribes.

The collection provides expanded lore regarding dragon bonding and character perspectives, including accounts from Xaden Riorson and Garrick Tavis. While the series protagonist, Violet Sorrengail, does not have a featured story in this volume, the book offers new insights into the world surrounding her experiences.
