Rebel Wilson texts reveal $110,000 ‘untraceable site’ proposal in legal dispute

Newly filed court documents in Los Angeles reveal text messages between actor Rebel Wilson and crisis publicist Melissa Nathan regarding a proposed ‘untraceable site’. The messages, part of an ongoing legal battle with film producer Amanda Ghost, outline a cost of $110,000 for a service including a satellite, ghost server, ghost hosting, and an algorithmic push across platforms for three months.

During a deposition, Wilson testified that she did not recall sending or receiving the messages but noted it ‘is possible’. The dispute stems from a conflict following the rollout of the film ‘The Deb’, Wilson’s directorial debut. Ghost has sued Wilson for defamation, alleging Wilson hired a team to destroy her reputation through anonymous websites. Wilson has countersued, accusing Ghost and other producers of embezzlement, breach of contract, and sexual misconduct.

Wilson’s legal counsel has described the motion to compel discovery as ‘one-sided and thus incomplete’, stating that Wilson looks forward to presenting her side of the story at trial.
