Rebellions and ai& partner to deploy AI inference infrastructure in Japan
South Korean AI semiconductor startup Rebellions and AI infrastructure provider ai& have entered a partnership to deploy high-efficiency AI inference infrastructure in the Japanese market. As part of this collaboration, ai& plans to introduce up to 100 RebelServer units, equipped with Rebellions' NPU technology, into its data centers in Tokyo.
This deployment is part of ai&’s broader data center expansion strategy, which includes a $2 billion infrastructure investment. The company aims to operate five locations by the end of 2026 and secure 40MW of power capacity by the end of 2027. The first batch of servers is expected to be deployed between October and November 2024.
By utilizing a heterogeneous infrastructure model, ai& will combine Rebellions' NPUs with other accelerators from providers like NVIDIA and AMD. This approach is designed to optimize workloads based on cost, performance, and power efficiency, providing more flexible and economical AI inference services for enterprises and government agencies in Japan.
