Rebellions NPU powers four SK Telecom AI services
Rebellions, a South Korean AI semiconductor startup, has successfully integrated its Neural Processing Unit (NPU), the AtomMax, into SK Telecom’s commercial AI service infrastructure. The NPU is currently supporting four major services: A.dot call summarization, streaming text-to-speech (TTS), AI customer centers, and scam message detection.
According to Rebellions, the infrastructure processes approximately 14 million AI requests and over 4 billion tokens daily. This deployment marks a significant milestone for domestic NPU technology, demonstrating its ability to handle large-scale, real-time commercial traffic comparable to global big tech standards.
SK Telecom has implemented a hybrid computing structure, utilizing an ‘NPU Farm’ that pools dozens of NPU servers and hundreds of accelerator cards. This allows the company to flexibly reallocate resources between GPUs and NPUs based on specific task requirements, optimizing computational efficiency and reducing overall infrastructure costs.
