Örebro University launches new Swedish course for teachers

Örebro University has introduced a new Swedish language course designed to help prospective teachers and preschool teachers meet stricter eligibility requirements. Starting in the autumn semester of 2027, higher grades in Swedish and Swedish as a second language will be required for various teacher training programs.

The new course focuses on essential linguistic skills, including reading comprehension, writing, speaking, text analysis, rhetoric, and source management. Completing the course grants special eligibility in Swedish equivalent to a grade C, which can be used to apply for teacher or preschool teacher programs at any higher education institution in Sweden.
